Charlie Crist Misleads Republicans

Posted by victory1project on October 19, 2009

Charlie Christ is claiming to be a Conservative Republican in his Senate Campaign. Let’s check Charlie’s record:

Crist Begs For Bailout Money

Crist Begs For Bailout Money

Charlie Crist begging Obama for a part of a $787 Billion bailout and now blames Obama for out of control spending. Listen here.

Charlie considers conservative credentials like , ” In Haines City, the governor said the state’s economy is slowly turning around and noted the help that turn around is receiving from the changes his administration has made, such as cutting property taxes and streamlining the process of obtaining permits.

What the Governor fails to say is:

1. Charlie Crist raised court fees to consumers for filing papers at local courthouses see here.

2. Fees for license plates, license renewals, and vehicle registrations are expected to increase.  The state legislature moved to raise the fees this year to help make up a big budget deficit. Many drivers are unhappy about the cost of services rising. Officials say there isn’t anything you can do to fight the increase. See here.

3. Rental cars fees increase with new state tax as reported in Miami Herald see here.

4. Selling Florida roads to investment bankers see here. The article says, “Florida gave the green light to six groups that included JPMorgan, Lehman Brothers and Carlyle Group to bid for a 50- to 75-year lease on Alligator Alley, a toll road known for sightings of sleeping alligators that stretches 78 miles, or 125 kilometers, along I-75 in South Florida.

Charlie claims he has championed lower property taxes and maybe there was a $200 decrease in property taxes but Charlie raised every fee in the state wiping out any property tax saving.  In addition, property values have dropped over 40% in most areas since the governor was elected yet property taxes haven’t dropped 40%.
